Streetcar Development’s plans for Riverside Toronto

Having purchased Toronto’s historical Broadview Hotel (a.k.a. Jilly’s) at Queens Street East and Broadview Avenue a couple months back, Streetcar Development has now also purchased the 4.5 acres of land to its southwest, creating a prime riverside location.

Streetcar is planning to restore the historical Broadview Hotel to its landmark status and has requested for the public and stakeholders to share ideas and input to help shape their plans (Click HERE to share your input). As for the newly acquired land, it is proposed that this site will be used for a new condo/loft development project, to be called Riverside Square.

In this new condo development project, there will be four buildings of varying heights; 4 storeys condo building along Queen Street and stepping back and up to 7 storeys, 12 and 13 storey condos at the middle of the site, and an 8 story heights and a 24 storey point tower at the South along Eastern Avenue. In total, there are 894 units and 722 parking spaces (residential and public) proposed.

Of course, these plans remain preliminary as the two recent applications submitted to the City for rezoning of the Tippet Richardson and Toyota sites are still at the early stages of municipal review.
